Police question five, including babysitter, after two boys found alone by roadside

KAJANG: Police have recorded statements from five individuals — including the babysitter — after two young boys were found wandering unsupervised by the roadside near Bandar Bukit Mahkota, Bangi.

Kajang district police chief, Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abdul Yusof, said the investigation paper is currently being finalised for further action.

“So far, we’ve taken five statements and have just opened the investigation paper. Once it’s complete, we’ll determine the next course of action,” Berita Harian reported.

The case came to light after media reports confirmed that the two boys — aged three and six — had left their home yesterday while the babysitter was asleep. They were later found safe by members of the public.

Naazron said the boys were brought to Bangi police station by concerned citizens, who spotted them walking alone near the roadside without adult supervision.

“Initial checks confirmed the children were local and physically unharmed. They were discovered near Bandar Bukit Mahkota, without any guardian in sight,” he added.

An investigation paper has been opened under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001 for neglect.
